SeaKlear Natural Clarifier Celebrates 30th Birthday
SeaKlear is celebrating 30 years of its signature product, SeaKlear Natural Clarifier. The celebration kicked off March 27, or World Water Day, and will continue all year with promotions and dealer events.
SeaKlear Natural Clarifier launched in 1985. It was notable for its unique use of chitin, which was removed from crab and shrimp shells recycled from local Seattle canneries. In a water clarifier, Chitin helps to bind organic material together so it can be easily filtered.
“This is an exciting year for us. It's incredible to reflect on how our original founders created SeaKlear Natural Clarifier bringing a revolutionary solution to keeping swimming pool and spa water clean,” says Martin Coles, CEO of Halosource,
In addition to celebrating the 30th anniversary of SeaKlear Natural Clarifier, the product was also awarded the prestigious WQA NSF/ANSI Standard 50 and NSF Standard 60 drinking water status, confirming the effective and natural benefits to consumers who use the product.

Michael Phelps Surprises Master Spas Dealers/Sales Reps
Michael Phelps and his coach, Bob Bowman, recently visited Fort Wayne, Ind., as a surprise appearance during Master Spas annual sales conference.
Master Spas, which has been partnered with Phelps and Bowman since 2009, manufactures the Michael Phelps Signature Swim Spas line of premium swim and fitness spas out of their Fort Wayne facility. Phelps also had the opportunity to meet students from the Crossing Education Center and visit with children at the Boys & Girls Club of Fort Wayne.
The whirlwind visit began with Phelps and Bowman’s surprise appearance at Master Spas’ annual sales conference, where they emphasized again how much they appreciated training in the swim spa, especially before the 2012 London Games.
"Swimming in the swim spa was the number one thing that helped me with my stroke technique,” Phelps said at the meetin. “The ability to have Bob right there and able to watch every little aspect of my stroke gave him the means to help me fix it. He can tell me something, and, I can take his input and apply it right away. Training in the swim spa helped me develop the best freestyle stroke that I’ve had in my career.” He then added with a smile, “The hot tub section is great too!”
Hayward Pool Products Launches Support Center For Homeowners
Hayward is excited to announce its new Support Center, which seeks to provide homeowners quick and convenient access to the majority of Hayward product manuals, troubleshooting guides, videos, FAQs and quick reference guides — all in one centralized location to make maintenance easy.
“People utilize the Internet more and more every day, so it only makes sense that we provide better support in the preferred delivery method," says National Technical Service Support Manager Scott Wiegman.
For example, Wiegman noted that users who deploy the mobile-friendly Support Center to search “How to adjust EcoStar timers,” are likely to find the answer quickly and efficiently. “This will in turn lead to lower wait times for those customers who call or email our technical support group regarding a more complex inquiry,” he says.
The company also adds that certain reference materials for pool professionals, such as gas or electrical troubleshooting guides, were purposely left out of the support center but may still be found by logging into the Totally Hayward site and visiting Hayward University.
