Tara built the new plant to accommodate the increasing production of safety covers. The new energy-efficient building uses significantly less energy (up to 50%) than the existing plant, according to the company. Tara invested $3.3 million and 18 months into the new facility, which includes new state-of-the-art cutting tables and sewing machines. “This expansion couldn’t have come at a better time. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for outdoor products has been unprecedented. Already, the demand for safety covers has far exceeded previous years, and the season has yet to start,” says Tara’s CPO Larry Furlough, who oversaw the construction of the plant.
Tara’s new facility will not only house their safety cover production and inventory but also a new research and development department. They’ve developed several tools already that increase the speed and accuracy of pool measurement, and they plan to continue work in this area to help their customers get better results on their liner and safety cover installations. Tara is also working on new products for the backyard and other outdoor spaces that would mitigate sun exposure and allow customers to fully enjoy their time outdoors.
