The Florida Swimming Pool Association has named its 2020 Person of the Year award at the Awards and Welcome Reception during the Everything Under the Sun Expo in February.
Each year, the FSPA Chapter presidents select a Person of the Year for the Florida Swimming Pool Association. It is based on the individual effort and effectiveness of the individual in providing the FSPA with leadership, commitment and service.
Rick Howard, Rick’s Pool Service, Inc. in Clearwater, has been selected as the 2020 Person of the Year for the Florida Swimming Pool Association. Rick has served as the chairperson of the Education Committee for several years and under his leadership, the FSPA has launched the Apprenticeship Program, strengthened the partnerships with FBA and Skills USA, opened the doors to the FSPA T.E.C. Center, and continued the development of a pool-specific training program with technical colleges.
Rick is also very active in his local Florida West Coast Chapter and has been since 2004 when he was first elected Chapter president, a title he has held many times including 2018-2020. He continues to spend many hours volunteering at Legislative Days, the Everything Under the Sun Expo and other events.
Rick is committed to continuing to work for the betterment of the swimming pool industry.
