PHTA Executive Team Grows with New VP of Marketing

Phtavp MarketingThe Pool & Hot Tub Alliance has appointed Janay Rickwalder, CAE, as vice president of marketing, a new role for the organization. Effective Jan. 2, 2020, Rickwalder brings extensive strategic development and experience in association marketing and communication.

“Janay’s addition to our staff will take our organization’s consumer recognition to the next level,” says PHTA President and CEO, Sabeena S. Hickman, CAE. “I’ve long admired her background professionally. Not only does she bring a tremendous amount of skills to the table, but she has great energy, she is a relationship builder and a great mentor.”

Rickwalder has experience working with marketing, communications, strategy, web development, member programs and leadership in numerous association capacities. At PHTA she will oversee marketing and communication initiatives and will lead the business development department.

Most recently, Rickwalder worked as the director of strategic marketing and communications at the Brokerage Resources of America, LLC, where she directed the development and execution of BRAMCO’s marketing and education strategy. She managed all of BRAMCO’s internal and external communications, served as the organization’s creative lead, developed and evolved BRAMCO’s meeting strategy and assisted in leveraging carriers and strategic relationships sales, marketing and educational resources. 

In her eight-year tenure with the National Association of Pest Management Professionals, her strategic communications and marketing plan gained and maintained support of programs by members, government officials, industry and non-traditional target markets.

“I couldn’t be happier to join PHTA,” Rickwalder says. “As an organization, we have the unique opportunity to cultivate relationships and establish brand name recognition in a way that hasn’t been done in the industry before. We can best serve our stakeholders by executing strong communication campaigns; and the root of our existence is to improve the industry for the benefit of all.”

Rickwalder is a graduate of Millersville State University of Pennsylvania. She will operate out of PHTA’s Alexandria, Va., office.
