At Castle Hot Springs in Morristown, Ariz., the healing power of water is explored through a multitude of practices to give resort-goers the most relaxing experience possible. Between the use of the natural hot springs, paddle board yoga, their signature Watsu therapy and more, serenity is not hard to come by.

The resort itself is home to naturally occurring thermal hot springs that are rich in lithium, magnesium, and bicarbonates. “These minerals are known to calm the nervous system, ease muscle tension and enhance cognitive function,” explains the Castle Hot Springs team.

Trained therapists guide guests through a number of water-based therapies, namely the Watsu Pool Treatment, which is a blend of water and shiatsu massage (a Japanese form of massage).

Performed right in the waters of the hot springs, the sensation of floating in the mineral-rich water is meant to help guests “feel weightless and let go of whatever they may be holding on to in order to reach a new level of relaxation.”

Offering Watsu therapy came just a few years ago after the resort changed ownership. “It was a natural progression for the resort,” explains owner Mike Watts in a statement to the Robb Report. “Our wellness programming is firmly rooted in the stunning nature surrounding us, and the new Watsu pool is also outdoors in our geothermal spring canyon, which enhances the experience.”

Beyond Watsu therapy, Castle Hot Springs prides themselves on exploring the intersection of water and wellness through a number of guided treatments: hot springs soaking, their Wellness Through Water Retreat, Connecting With Water Tour, paddle board yoga and their hot springs soaking circuit.

“Wellness through water is not just a passing fad here — it’s a way of life.”
