Waterfront hot tubs often appeal to the sensuous or perhaps the business-minded among us. Well, this particular hot tub might interest the historians or anthropologists in the crowd.
Gary Jantzer made it his goal in creating his hot tub to pay tribute to his ancestors, who originally settled in Grants Pass, Ore. Coming from a long line of miners and lumbermen, Jantzer wanted to create a hot tub in a mine-like setting, so his is in a cave located beneath a log flume that acts as a slide to a larger pool.
"The house is made of large logs. That and the hot tub tie the timber and mining theme together very well," Jantzer says.
Carved into the wall behind the hot tub is an old miner sitting back and taking a breather with his pick on his way to work. When viewing this setting and magnificent artistry, it isn't hard to imagine a day in the life of one of Jantzer's ancestors. Although, you would have the luxury of imagining it while soaking in a steaming tub with a high-tech surround sound system controlled from touch-pads located throughout the home.
The same people who worked on Splash Mountain at Disney World had a hand in the creation of this hot tub, and it shows. From the intricate artwork to the signature log flume, this hot tub screams Disney.
Wouldn't it be nice to enjoy a soak in this secluded, ancestral tribute?
