In only its second year, the WAVES Expo, India’s only pool and spa show, continues to expand and further the pool and spa industry while helping international companies flourish in the Indian market. WAVES 2012, which took place September 6-8 in New Delhi, featured an influx of new exhibitors — 67 in all — and close to 2,000 visitors from India and around the world. In addition, this year marked the first time an international pool and spa certification course took place in India.
In the market’s view, WAVES is considered to be the only branded annual exhibition that successfully unites pool and spa manufacturers, dealers, retailers, architects, contractors, hoteliers, wellness professionals and private consumers while addressing the opportunities and trends of the Indian home and wellness industry.
Held at the new, ultra modern India Expo Center, WAVES 2012 doubled the floor space of last year’s event and brought together industry leaders from Certikin, Hayward, AstralPool, Kripsol, HornerXpress, Speck Pumpen, Glong Motors, Pool Technologie and Midas, to name a few. New exhibitors looking to penetrate the lucrative Indian market were overjoyed at the potential business prospects and turnout.

The 2nd WAVES Expo also featured India’s first Aqua-Techture Conference; an annual forum featuring India’s only focused design and technical conference on bathing wellness. Designed for architects by architects, this unique conference was organized in association with a leading architects association to ensure an innovative and design-oriented knowledge-sharing event.
In a continuing effort to elevate the industry, the 2nd WAVES Expo hosted the prestigious Certified Pool/Spa Operator (CPO) course for the first time in India. This much needed international certification, conducted by the National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF) of USA, brought together pool and water professionals who flew in from all across the region, including all parts of India and as far away as Dubai and Nepal, to take part in the course.
Participating at WAVES for the first time, the UK Trade and Investment brought companies from the UK seeking to enter the burgeoning Indian market. In addition to the British invasion, a Chinese delegation visited the show with several manufacturers who told WAVES they will be participating in 2013.
This year’s show also gained a plethora of support from domestic and international organizations such as the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Indian Spa and Wellness Business Forum, China Pool and Spa Association, Spa Association of India and the National Swimming Pool Foundation to name a few.
In conclusion, many milestones were made at this year’s event. In addition to the massive marketing campaign, which included billboards and hoardings hoisted above the city, Live Media digital displays, radio and newspaper promotions, the 2nd WAVES Expo was also featured on the Care World TV channel!
Following the successful 2nd edition of WAVES, the 3rd annual WAVES Int’l Expo 2013 is already scheduled and confirmed for September 18-20, 2013 in New Delhi.
