The Northeast Spa & Pool Association has named the winners for the 2013 Outstanding Achievement Awards – Builders and Service Competition. Dozens of companies submitted nearly 200 entries for the two contests, proving competition was as fierce as ever. And according to Kyle Chaikin, president of NESPA, entries were better than ever as well.

"From year to year, our members continue to outdo themselves with the incredible work that they do as builders and service professionals," Chaikin says. "Once again, the quality of the competition was taken to a new level."

This year's competition marked a departure for NESPA thanks to a new name (the competition was formerly referred to as the Awards of Excellence – Honoring Our Peers Awards Program), updated categories and revised judging criteria. However, the intent remained the same — the Builders Competition recognizes NESPA members whose installation of pools, spas, hot tubs and water features represent the best examples of the industry's products, while the Outstanding Achievement - Service Competition recognizes NESPA members who boast high quality service and repairs as well as superior customer service.

Of the entries, special recognition was given to the Judge's Choice Best of Competition Award Winner: Cipriano Landscape Design of Ridgewood, N.J., which submitted an all-tile violin-shaped pool with special lighting effects. The Best of Competition honor is awarded based on the entire build process and as well as the completed work.

Back by popular demand this year, the People's Choice Award was voted on by Northeast Spa & Pool Association members in attendance at the Award Celebration on October 18th in Atlantic City, N.J. Cipriano Landscape Design also received this distinguished honor.
