Growth Leads to New Production Facilities for Modern Recreational Technologies

0

As a result of significant growth over the last few years, along with product line expansions, Modern Recreational Technologies (MRT) is investing in new manufacturing and R&D capabilities to keep up with customer demand. Manufacturing will be transferred to the RPM Industrial Coatings Group, Inc. facility in Hudson, N.C. Additionally, lab personnel will move to the new state-of-the-art RPM Industrial Coatings Group Inc. Research, Development, & Innovation Center of Excellence in Greensboro, N.C.

The new dedicated MRT production environment will triple the current production capacity and functionality under one centralized location for Pettit, Ramuc, Tuff Coat, ValvTect, and Woolsey. This includes the installation of larger tanks, advanced manufacturing equipment, a dedicated clean area environment for sensitive two-component urethane paints, and expanded product packaging capabilities. The facility will provide faster production and shipping times to MRT's Global Distribution Center in Mount Airy, N.C., just 90 minutes away.

The new 60,000 square foot RPM Industrial Coatings Group Research, Development, & Innovation Center of Excellence will provide MRT enhanced R&D capabilities, including in-house coatings and fuel additives testing, faster new product development, and increases to technology footprints within each of MRT's three segments (Marine, Aquatics and Parks, and Motorsports and RV).

As a result of this move, MRT anticipates the Rockaway, N.J.-based facility to stop production of existing products by December 31, 2023. Transitions are underway and should be fully complete by January 2024. Further details and timing will be available via MRT representative.
