Thursday Pools was recently awarded $25,000 from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management because of the innovative pollution prevention system that the company is currently developing at its manufacturing facility. This additional pollution prevention system further enhances environmental stewardship. Specifically, Thursday Pools has designed and developed an innovative gel coat gantry robot. This unique system automatically sprays gel and barrier coat on their fiberglass pools. The system optimizes gel and barrier coat application and therefore, reduces emissions and improves quality.
“We are very pleased to have been awarded the grant since it helps offset some of the costs associated with the installation and training. This new system will reduce environmental emissions, improve quality and operational efficiency. We appreciate being supported and recognized by the state of Indiana for our environmental stewardship initiatives,” says Bill Khamis, CFO of Thursday Pools.
