The NDPA is Joining #GivingTuesdayNow

#GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 — in addition to the regularly scheduled Dec. 1, 2020.

#GivingTuesdayNow is an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The day is designed to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world.

The pandemic has caused significant change to normal household routines, forcing a great number of parents to juggle working from home while taking care of their kids (that are now home all day) and teaching them as well. This has caused drowning statistics to go up at an alarming rate making water safety awareness and drowning prevention education a must in the new conditions in which we find ourselves.

Drowning won't stop, so neither will the NDPA. Your contributions and support will allow the organization to continue working towards reducing the number of drowning incidents in the country through advocacy and education. Click here to provide a donation.

The Why

The NDPA works closely with a large number of families who have lost a loved one to a drowning. This group is collectively known as Families United to Prevent Drowning. Each member of Families United to Prevent Drowning has turned their personal loss into lifesaving advocacy work to help prevent another family from experiencing a similar tragedy.

During the month of May the NDPA will honor their stories and their strength for the duration of Water Safety Month in a special campaign on their social media profiles. Get ready to learn more about these amazing and dedicated people working to change the world!
