After a 15-year hiatus, the Journal of the Swimming Pool and Spa Industry is returning as an online publication. The peer reviewed journal was founded in 1995 as a print publication supported by subscriber fees. Over its nine-year run, five issues were published covering a wide range of technical topics, mostly chemical in nature, authored by a host of recognized industry experts in the respective subject areas.
The publication was discontinued in 2004 due to printing and postage costs. Last year, publisher Que Hales announced back issues of JSPSI were being made available online. A new sixth issue is now available, which includes technical discussions covering chlorine and cyanuric acid.
In a July press release announcing the journal’s return, the publishers explained: “A technical journal differs from other publications in that it contains no advertising, is not for profit and is peer reviewed, a process where submitted articles are blind reviewed by experts in the specific field and are selected based on appropriateness and scientific accuracy. Authors range from consultants to chemical technical departments, from experienced tradesmen to trade organizations.”
The JSPSI will be published biannually. Submissions for new articles should be sent to [email protected].
