Gemma Mengual is one of the most outstanding figures in Spanish sport. An Olympic medalist and a legend of artistic, synchronized swimming, her career has been marked by talent, discipline and a deep connection with water. Born in Barcelona, Mengual is a synchronized swimmer whose record includes 17 gold, 18 silver, and 12 bronze medals awarded at a long list of world championships, European championships, as well the Summer Olympics in 2000, 2004 and 2008. After her retirement in 2012 she began coaching the Spanish national synchronized swim team. She also returned from retirement to complete in the World Championships in Kazan, Russia, in the mixed duet competition with Pau Ribes as well as at the Olympics in Rio in 2016 where she competed in a duet alongside Ona Caronell.
After a life defined by the demands of sports, Gemma has discovered a new way of experiencing the water. Today, Mengual enjoys her swimming pool that uses RENOLIT’s reinforced PVC membrane in the VOGUE Vintage design. Today Mengual says she feels freer, more mindful and focused on connecting with herself.
