After months of turbulence within the organization, Genesis announced this week that co-founder Skip Philips, who resigned earlier this fall, is returning as a Genesis Ambassador.

“Once Sabeena was selected as president and CEO, she opened the lines of communication,” Phillips says. “After many discussions, I found the new direction of PHTA and Genesis to be one I can support. Brian and I have dedicated much of our professional careers to Genesis, elevating the education of the industry. My return is to ensure that the 1,800 students within our educational funnel can continue their careers with the legacy we began.”

“We cannot be more pleased to have Skip return to Genesis. Having both Brian and Skip, the organization’s co-founders, back in leadership roles within Genesis paves the foundation to exponential growth,” says Sabeena Hickman, PHTA president and CEO. “I, along with the PHTA Board of Directors, united with Skip and Brian, see the infinite possibilities for Genesis.”

Upon his return, Phillips's role will focus on education and GENESIS’s commitment to delivering the top-quality educational programs of the pool and spa industry. He will work with the PHTA educational task force on current programs, identifying GENESIS course needs and revisions and unify with those entities that share common goals.
