Couple Survives CA Wildfires in Swimming Pool

Northern California’s wildfires have been both devastating and deadly — 41 people have died as a result so far. Jan and John Pascoe of Santa Rosa were almost among them. As fires closed in around their home, with no way out, they sought refuge in the only place they could find: their neighbor’s swimming pool.

With t-shirts over their faces to protect themselves from falling embers, the Pascoes stayed in the pool for six hours before it was safe to leave.

The Los Angeles Times reported their story in gripping detail. To read it in full, click here.
