Pen-Fabricators Pen Fabricators introduces a new tile pattern for the 2011 season, available in two floor pattern designs. The new Riviera Tile offers a traditional tile border design that imitates the look of an intricate floral mosaic flowing continuously around the perimeter of the pool. However, unlike other patterns, this tile border can be paired with either a floor design that imitates the look of a gunite pool, or with a mosaic tile floor that gives the pool the look of a hand-tiled pool, the company says.

Evosus, Inc. Evosus, makers of Evosus Business Management Software, a fully integrated software program designed specifically for the pool and spa industry, has added a job costing component to its program. The job costing component’s features offer a unique way to manage large jobs such as pool construction or rebuilds. Specific features include job phases and cost codes, progress billing, employee time tracking, materials management and full GL Integration along with a host of job-costing reports.

API API has redesigned its EZ Spa brand, with an eye toward improving shelf presence and simplifying both the retailer’s and spa owner’s experience with a new packaging design, color coding by product and simplified label directions. The new boxed kit includes everything spa owners need for startup and maintenance, API says. EZ Spa’s 7-in-1 formula treats spa water with fewer chemicals, less testing and less hassle, says API.

Deck-O-Seal Deck-O-Shield Plus is a premium-grade, ready-to-use, water-based sealer formulated for use on natural stone.  Deck-O-Shield Plus is formulated specifically to seal and weatherproof porous surfaces and is ideal to use on pool copings and decks, protecting them from salt penetration, the company says. It can be used on all porous surfaces, such as natural stone, tile, concrete, pavers and grout. Deck-O-Shield Plus provides increased protection against spalling and pitting of porous stone and concrete surfaces caused by salt penetration, as well as spalling caused by freeze-thaw cycles. In addition, this sealer will not significantly alter the color or tint of the surface after application.

Cal Spas Cal Spas offers its stainless-steel Candy Cane Jets with LED Hi-Light Lighting. These jets are LED-ready and feature a unique transparent, stainless-steel “candy cane” design, says Cal Spas. The patent-pending Candy Cane Jets are standard on the Genesis through Ultimate Fitness models. Waterway Plastics Waterway Plastics says all of its Crystal Water Filters have state-of-the-art 2 1⁄2-inch internal piping, which minimizes restrictions and improves water flow for greater and more-efficient filtration. For the Crystal Water Cartridge Filter, the four-cartridge design simplifies element removal and servicing, and the curved vertical grids of the Crystal Water D.E. Filter give maximum filter surface area for more dirt capture, Waterway says. Both types extend the time between cleaning cycles. In addition, Waterway says its multi-handle lid design and easy-out filter grid pack make servicing easy.

Acu-Trol, Div. of Pentair Water AK110 controller monitors and controls everything from pH and ORP to ppm and temperature. The controller has alarms, and set points trigger these alarms. The unit also offers the ability to proportional feed and the ability to set missing times and cycle times, as well as overfeed lock-out times and acid/base feed. The AK110 stores up to 30 days of data recording at two-hour intervals for long-term water safety reporting.

MP Industries MP Industries introduces its new professional line of nets.  They are made with a heavy-duty aluminum frame and plastic.  The nets come in either tough polypropelene plastic (coarse) or nylon (fine).

Water Tech The new Grit-Gitter Stretch is the latest upgrade to the popular Grit-Gitter, offering a longer-reaching, versatile vacuum to clean without getting into the water. The extender portion can be removed to convert it to the familiar 9-inch-long Grit-Gitter. This two-in-one vacuum allows you to clean in or out of the water. JED Engineering Inc. JED Engineering offers the JED 003, a corona-discharge ozone generator designed for water purification in portable spas. The JED 003 is sized to fit under the skirt of smaller portable spas and provides ozone output for treating up to 500 gallons of water without damaging spa covers, headrests or exposing bathers to excessive off-gassing, JED says.

Zodiac Pool Systems Inc. Combat debris with the Baracuda MX 8, the high-performance suction pool cleaning robot that cleans faster and more aggressively than any cleaner in its class, says Zodiac. It utilizes “Cyclonic Suction” technology to capture maximum debris while maintaining cleaning power. The Baracuda MX 8 features X-Drive navigation intelligence for aggressive floor and wall cleaning.

Water Tech The Pool Blaster PRO is the battery-powered unit designed with the pool cleaning professional in mind, says WaterTech. It quickly vacuums large debris with ease and filters debris as small as 2 microns with its included micro filter bags. The PRO is a self-contained unit, and it comes with three filter bags (all purpose, sand and silt, microfilter), a flexible 15-inch vacuum head, and two interchangeable battery packs. It offers a combined run time of over three hours.

Splash-A-Round Pools The Mighty Vac automatic pool cleaner is the only cleaner in the industry designed to operate on most Intex brand pool pumps, says Splash-A-Round.  The cleaner is designed to work on just 16 to 42 gallons per minute and operates on the Intex 1,000-, 1,500- and 2,500-gph pump/filter combinations. The company says the Mighty Vac also works great on upgrade pump and filter combos made by GAME, Waterway and Hayward Pool Products.

SmartPool Inc. The SmartPool Direct Command (NC71RC) not only scrubs and vacuums pool floors and walls, it also brushes and cleans the scum line. The Direct Command is a remote-control robot that can be directed at dirty spots in a pool, or it can operate automatically at the touch of a button. This Eco-Smart cleaner, with its high-performance, low-energy engineering, uses very little power and costs just pennies to operate, says SmartPool.

Poolvergnuegen Poolvergnuegen introduces its Dual PoolCleaner. The first of its kind, the Dual PoolCleaner can be used as either a suction or a pressure cleaner, says the company. This cleaner ships in “pressure mode” but can be converted to a suction cleaner with the optional conversion kit. Use it as a pressure cleaner for large debris and large leaves and use it as a suction cleaner for fine sand and silt.

Pentair Water Pool and Spa The Kreepy Krauly SandShark cleaner’s patented footpad scrubs debris from pool surfaces while its powerful vacuum action whisks it away. Paramount Pool & Spa Systems Paramount Pool & Spa Systems offers the PCC2000, PV3, Cyclean, Pool Valet, Vanquish and Vantage automatic in-floor cleaning systems , which clean steps, benches, walls, floors, spas, even water features. These are available for concrete, vinyl and one-piece/fiberglass pools.

Maytronics US Inc. The Dolphin dx4 is part of Maytronics’ dx family of robots, which has been completely revitalized for 2011. Maytronics says the dx4 now boasts an incredible feature set that includes a touch-guided remote control, digital power supply with full-bag indicator and weekly timer feature, a one-hour “quick clean” option, and Dolphin’s legendary robotic scanning technology.

Hayward Pool Products Hayward Pool Products says its TigerShark QC robotic cleaner, with its patented Quick Clean technology, cleans any shape, size or type of pool in 60 minutes. Designed for pools up to 20 feet by 40 feet, the TigerShark QC uses less energy and requires no hoses or hook-ups. Its unique cleaning pattern is ideal for heavier dirt and debris, as well as for quicker, between-cycle cleanups, the company says.
